The twelfth Latin American Botanical Congress was held last week in Quito, Ecuador, and UF Biology was well represented! Gordon Burleigh and Lorena Endara organized a symposium on flagellate plants (where Emily, Stuart, Gordon, and George all gave talks), and there was a large set of talks focused on ferns and lycophytes, where Wes spoke about his work on Phlegmariurus. We also enjoyed a wonderful field trip organized by Lorena to see a few of her favorite places around Quito. Altogether it was a fantastic visit to Ecuador!
